Frequently Asked Questions
ABOUT THE BOOK
-
You can read it before or while doing The Father's Fellowship. The Visionary Father provides the full theology, Abraham's life as a model patriarch, and the biblical framework the entire Fellowship is built on. Reading it before or alongside the journey will help you go deeper into building your household vision. The book is included free with your Fellowship membership.
-
No. The Visionary Father is not about tips for raising kids. It is a biblical blueprint for leading a multigenerational household with vision. Through the life of Abraham, it covers how to cast vision, build household culture, steward five forms of capital, and pass along a legacy that compounds across generations. And much, much more (see table of contents here).
ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP
-
No, this is not a course. The Father's Fellowship is an ongoing membership. The 40-week Household Vision Guide is your starting point. After that, your membership continues with ongoing monthly coaching calls, deep-dive guides, community access, and a growing resource library. The vision you build is a living document that you review, refine, and deepen for years. Your membership supports that entire journey and provides ongoing support and resources as your household matures. Building and living out a vision is a continual process and we intend to help fathers excel in every way at this.
-

A free digital copy of The Visionary Father book.
-
It is the tangible artifact you build across 40 weeks. Each week produces a written contribution covering a specific component of your household: your declaration of surrender, departure declaration, allegiance to God, household definition, leadership roles, identity, origin story, marriage foundation, direction, mission, values, culture, rhythms, relationships, stewardship, and legacy plan. In Week 39 you assemble them all into one unified document. In Week 40 you commission your household into it. Frame it. Review it annually. Pass it to your children.
-
Every week follows the same rhythm. The Word This Week (Scripture meditation). An Opening drawn from Abraham's life. The Teaching (core content from Scripture and the book). Your Household Vision (guided questions in three tiers: Discover and Define, Pass It Along, Live It Out). Share This Week (a prompt to discuss with your wife). Vision Document Contribution (a specific writing assignment producing a section of your final document).

ABOUT INVOLVEMENT
-
Yes, and you should bring her in from the start. The guide is father-led, meaning you drive the process and get your household excited. We will equip you for this through the content and coaching. Your wife is your most trusted counselor. She will see things you don't and has valuable input that is critical when casting vision. The vision will be immeasurably stronger because of her. Additionally every week includes a "Share This Week" prompt and many weeks ask you to write the Vision Document Contribution together. It also has prompts for what to share with the full household including children so they are with you in the journey as you begin further integrating your household.
-
This is common and the book addresses it directly. A visionary father casts vision early and often, bringing his wife in rather than surprising her. The guide is designed to include her progressively. Many weeks have prompts specifically for discussing together. Start the journey and let the process draw her in. Most wives respond when they see their husband pursuing something meaningful with humility and consistency.
-
This journey is for any man leading his household. The principles apply whether you are married, single, divorced, or remarried. Some marriage-specific exercises may need adaptation, but the core framework works regardless of family structure. This also helps with restoration of brokenness in family. The intent for any family is to pass along what is learned. If mistakes were made and you recognize it, then you have a chance to share a renewed vision with your children and downline generations. This is the blessing of a family: mistakes don't have to define who you are or become. You can learn and compound over generations. Abraham wasn't perfect, but in his mistakes he didn't stay there. He moved on and every family was blessed through his line. This is a model we can all learn from. While much of the content speaks directly to husbands and fathers, single men, engaged men, and men preparing for future families can benefit greatly from the teachings and resources.
-
Absolutely, this can be incredibly helpful. Many fathers will find accountability and encouragement by walking through this alongside other men. However, the guide is designed as a father-led couple journey with husband and wife. The weekly work is personal to your household although there will be similarities on parts between differing households. The Fellowship community provides the group connection where you can share progress and encourage one another.
-
There is so much here for you. In fact, the earlier you start thinking through these things the better. It is much easier to plan in advance and even if you are wrong, adjust, than to create patterns over 10 or 20 years then try to unwind and implement. However, God can do anything with any family so in any case we always want to trust God for the direction of our household.
ABOUT THE JOURNEY
-
You don't need to be naturally visionary. God gave this role to fathers knowing most men don't live in that space naturally. The guide walks you through it step by step. You are not creating a vision from nothing. You are discovering what God already has for your household and writing it down. This is a skill to build and grow into. This is why The Visionary Father exists, to equip fathers in the God-given role. Further, God may have equipped your wife with some visionary skills that you can bring into the conversation as you develop a household vision together.
-
If you already lead with intention, this will sharpen and formalize what you are doing. Most strong fathers operate from instinct and conviction but have never written it down. The Household Vision Document takes what is in your head and heart and makes it clear enough for every member of your household to read and run with it. If you lead well this will serve to make you stronger, bring on more ideas, discussion, and elements to incorporate into your household. You can take it as deep as you want. We get into long-term planning two generations from now, succession and legacy plans, and base everything through the lens of Scripture. This will reach someone in every stage. For the new father it will be something he likely goes through multiple times. For the veteran it will push him to go further into restoring God's design for his family. For the leader of leaders you will pull out specific areas inspired by the Bible to incorporate into your household, business, and life.
-
The entire framework is rooted in Scripture and assumes a commitment to following God. If you are exploring faith, the book is a better starting point than the Fellowship. It will help you understand the biblical foundation before committing to the guided journey. And of course we just straight up recommend reading the Bible.
-
Take the time you need. If God is doing something in your heart on Week 4 and you need three weeks there, stay. The goal is depth, not speed. Some households will complete this in 40 weeks. Others will take 50 or 60+ weeks. Both are fine. This is intended to have a major impact in your generation and generations to come. It is well worth the time invested no matter how long it takes. There is never pressure to get through all the content in one week. The coaching and community are designed as support systems to keep you going and help you through sticking points or taking too much time off.
-
Each week's guide is designed to be completed in focused sessions throughout the week. The teaching and reflection can take 30 to 60 minutes. The conversation with your wife adds additional time. Some weeks will require more thought and prayer than others. This is not a rush. Give it the time it needs.
-
This is designed intentionally to hit all the key areas for a multigenerational vision. The weekly guides are PDF workbooks. Monthly coaching calls are live. The guide is designed to be worked through with your Bible, your wife, if appropriate older children, and your own reflection rather than passively watching videos.
-
Your membership continues seamlessly. You receive monthly coaching, new deep-dive guides as they are released, community access, and any new resources released through The Father's Fellowship. The vision is not something you build once. It is something you live, guard, and deepen across every season of fatherhood.
-
Upon completing the 40-week journey and assembling your Household Vision Document, you receive the Founding Father designation. This marks you as a man who has completed the full guided journey and holds a written vision for his household.
ABOUT COMMUNITY
-
After Phase 4 (Week 16). By then you have done the heart work, understand your household structure, have your identity and origin story, and have drafted your direction and mission. You will have enough depth to contribute meaningfully to the community. You will be designated as a Founding Father on the community platform and potentially given more responsibility as the platform matures.
-
A private community with other fathers who are actively building their household vision. Share progress, ask hard questions, encourage each other, and build the household alliances the journey describes. This is iron sharpening iron, not a social media feed.
